Privacy policy.
This policy explains what Findr ("Findr," "we," "us") collects when you use findr.co and getfindr.co (the "Service"), why we collect it, and the choices you have. It's written in plain language on purpose — if anything is unclear, contact us and we'll clarify or fix the policy itself.
1. The short version
- Your job-search data — roles, contacts, notes, resumes — belongs to you and is visible only to your account.
- We never sell your data, and we don't use it to train AI models beyond generating your own requested content.
- AI features send the relevant text (like your resume or a job description) to our AI provider to generate a result. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
- You can export or delete your data at any time.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and a securely hashed password (authentication is handled by our infrastructure provider, Supabase — we never see your plaintext password).
Job-search data you provide
Anything you add to your board or resume: job titles, companies, statuses, notes, salary figures, contact names and emails, resume content, and job descriptions you paste in for tailoring. This data is stored in your account, isolated from every other account by database-level access rules, and used only to provide the Service to you.
AI-generated content
When you use an AI feature — generating a resume summary, tailoring a resume to a job description, drafting a cover letter, or importing a resume or LinkedIn profile PDF — we send the relevant text (your resume content, the job description, and/or the text extracted from a file you chose to import) to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate the result. Imported files are read in your browser; the file itself is never uploaded to us — only its extracted text is processed. We log that an AI action occurred and which account it belongs to, so we can enforce free-plan usage limits; we do not use your content to train AI models.
Billing information
If you upgrade to Pro, your payment is processed entirely by Stripe on Stripe's own hosted checkout page. Findr never receives or stores your card number. We store the resulting subscription status (plan, renewal date, and a Stripe customer reference) so your account reflects the correct plan.
Chrome extension
The Findr Chrome extension reads the job posting on the page you're actively viewing (title, company, location, description) only when you click "Clip this job," in order to pre-fill a new board card. It does not run in the background, does not track your browsing, and does not send page content anywhere except into your own Findr account.
Technical data
Like most web services, our hosting and infrastructure providers log basic request data (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and reliability purposes. We use this defensively — to prevent abuse — not to build a profile of you.
3. How we use your information
- To operate the Service: store your board, sync it across your devices, and run the features you invoke (AI generation, tailoring, autofill).
- To enforce plan limits (for example, the number of free AI actions per month) and to process Pro billing.
- To communicate with you about your account — security notices, billing receipts, and, if you opt in, product updates.
- To detect and prevent abuse of the Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your job-search data with advertisers.
4. Who we share data with
We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run Findr, each of whom processes data only on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purpose of providing the Service — covering functions like account authentication and database hosting, AI processing for the features you invoke, payment processing for Pro subscriptions, website hosting, and aggregate website analytics. If you use the map view, the location names you've entered on your jobs (for example, "Denver, CO") are sent to a geocoding service to convert them into map coordinates — nothing else about the job or your account is included.
We do not share your data with any other third party except where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Findr or our users.
5. Data retention and deletion
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual jobs, contacts, or resume entries at any time from within the app. To delete your account entirely, contact us and we'll remove your account data, generally within 30 days, except where we're required to retain limited billing records for legal or tax purposes.
6. Your data, your export
You can export your job-search data as JSON at any time from within the app — it's yours, and it's designed to leave with you.
7. Cookies and local storage
Findr uses your browser's local storage to keep small conveniences working — like an in-progress job description you're tailoring against — and a session token to keep you signed in. We also use an analytics provider (Google Analytics) that sets cookies to help us understand aggregate site traffic — how many people visit, which pages they view, and roughly where visitors come from. This data is not used to build advertising profiles, and we don't use third-party advertising cookies.
8. Children's privacy
Findr is intended for job seekers and is not directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email.
